What Is This Competition?

Anjuran Genius Code Plus Solution, the Pertandingan Scratch Malaysia 2026 is a national-level online coding competition open to ALL primary school pupils in Malaysia (Year 1 to Year 6).

Participants choose one Malaysian state as their topic and build a Scratch project (a game, animation, or interactive story) that showcases its culture, tourism, food, and community. Projects must also include at least one element from the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The competition runs entirely online, outside school hours, FREE to pupils, teachers, or schools. All prizes, judging, and e-certificates are funded by Genius Code Plus Solution.

Competition Timeline

Now – 31 July 2026
📋 Registration Phase
Registration opens to all primary school pupils across Malaysia via the Genius Code Plus Solution platform.
1 August – 30 September 2026
💻 Project Development Phase
Two months to build your Scratch project and record your presentation video. Submit your Scratch project link + video by 30 September 2026.
1 October – 23 October 2026
⚖️ Judging Phase
A panel of professional judges reviews all submissions against the official marking rubric.
23 October 2026
🏆 Winners Announced
Official announcement of winners on the GeniusCode+ digital platform. Prizes and digital e-certificates distributed to all participants and winners.

Age Categories

Category A

Junior Coder

Ages 7 – 9 · Year 1–3

Focus on simpler projects: digital animations, storytelling, and easy button interactions to bring your Malaysian state to life.

Category B

Senior Coder

Ages 10 – 12 · Year 4–6

Build more complex projects with scoring systems, interactive quizzes, mini tourism games, and multiple scenes or backgrounds.

Entry Requirements

  • Built usingScratch only(online or offline editor)
  • At least3 scenes / backgroundsin your project
  • Includesanimation, music, or sound effects
  • Features at least1 SDG element (e.g. green transport, clean energy, heritage preservation)
  • Submit aScratch project link + a presentation video
  • Presentation video ismaximum 2 minutes
  • Project must beoriginal workof the participant
  • Topic must focus onone Malaysian state
